The boy looks concerned at all the people huddled in their houses. It was pitiful, and a bitter contrast to the other side of the area. The place contained Pro-Nazi groups, who openly displayed swastikas on their jeeps. The group was doing well so far. Disguised as humble beggars, the boy was wearing his clothes and hat so loose, he was indistinguishable. Apparently, they didn't want him to be identified. But, right now they were heading towards a secret area. Inhabited by whom, they did not know. Relying on one person's word, they were looking for the vaccine to a deadly, alien plague. They had been told that this was where they'd find it. "You boy," said one of them in German, "Is this the place?" The boy stepped forward and nodded his head. "Alright, I just hope that you remember correctly. Or we're all dead." The people moved forward, a little more. They were at the fence about to get in, when several men ambushed them from behind. One of them stepped out from among them. He had shown himself as a traitor. "Zozo Barbaric!" one man yelled, "I swear you will die for this!" Zozo Barbaric, happily counted his money as the group was herded away. They were ushered into a hallway with one window, covered with barb wire. The group was lined up Each man was identified and lead away. Then they came to the boy. He had his shoulders hunched over , his cap was bent over, so no one could see his face. He appeared scared. A few men poked fun at the kid. A guy reached for his hat. But, the boy ducked, and kicked the guy at the neck. The man fell to the floor, his neck had been badly injured. The other men closed in on the kid, but he sent them all back with his punches and kicks. Finally, another man's voice yelled in English, "Enough!" It was Krycek. (looking just like he did from Patient X). He walked up to the men and said, "Can't you even take care of a kid? Head back to your duties, I'll take care of him." The men obeyed the dark figure and left. Krycek turned to the boy, who was now back in his original state. He was even more hunched over now, as if Krycek's presence scared him even more. "Boy," he said, "What's wrong? Why do you keep your clothing like that?" No answer. "It won't save you, do you know that?" The kidded nodded vigourously. "Then you must think that, you might escape without your face being discovered. Is that it?" No reply. "Listen," said Krycek, "I'm losing my patience, now take off the cap." No reply. Krycek reached out for the cap, the kid grabbed his arm and flipped him over. Krycek retaliated by knocking the kid off his feet, with his leg. Krycek reached for his gun, so did the kid. Krycek had the advantage, though. He stood up and pointed the gun at him. Then Krycek smiled and said, "Hand over the gun, Agent Scully." Her disguise gone, Scully groaned and fell back into her cap. End of Teaser Krycek looked at the big hat, that he held in his hand. "You know, you would've been better off with a mask." He turned to Scully as she sat in a chair by a small metal table. She's no longer wearing the large jacket, it has been replaced by black suit pants, a blazer (like the tough one from "The Ghosts Who Stole Christmas", and a black shirt, that's like the navy one from End Game). Scully's hands were clapsed and resting on the table. Her eyes were closed, as if in deep thought. Krycek threw the hat down and walked over to her. She didn't stir. However, she did open her eyes and looked coolly up at him. "Why did you come here?" he asked. Scully smiled, turned towards the wall again and said, "The vaccine. Other than that, I only have one reason for being here." "And what's that?" he inquired. "Personal." she said softly. Krycek seemed to understand, "Then it was this reason, that helped you learn the vaccine was here?" Scully nodded. Krycek turned away. Scully finally turned her gaze to him and said, "So, what happens now?" He turned around abruptly and said, "Go. Go back to America." "No. Not without the vaccine. What I have seen convinces me how much it is needed." "I'm not going to hand it over." said Krycek. "Why not?" she asked. Krycek made no reply; he simply left the room, locking it behind. Scully walked around, slowly. Krycek was walking down the hall, when a man came up to him, "Sir, what do we do with her now?" "I don't know. Keep her here until decide." Krycek walked down the hallway to the exit. Krycek leaned against the wall and stared at the sky. Scully had changed. There was a look in her eyes, that seemed to set her apart, it seemed penetrate everything. The way she handled herself was almost lofty. And, she looked completely unshakeable. He had never known the Consortium Prisons to have that effect. He turned his face to the sky again. Now, he needed to decide what to do. Scully walked around the prison. After the Consortium, this prison seemed quite bearable. She sighed and continued to walk around. She was sure that Krycek was someone to count on at least thus far. She sighed again and sat back down. She stared up at the ceiling. She tried counting the cracks in it. A small dish of something was slipped under the door. Scully got up and looked down at it. She wasn't hungry; she was pretty much fed up, less than a month after the Consortium experience, she was tired of prisons. So, she stood to the side of the dish and kicked it as hard as she could. There, she felt better now. But, the door opened and Krycek came in. "Why the hell did you do that?" Scully was surprised he had heard, but quickly came up with a response. "It's a fast day." she said almost smugly. She half expected to get smacked upside her head. But, he said nothing and went out, slamming the door. She breathed in relief and continued her pace. Later on that night a few drunk guards were joking outside her cell. Scully was undisturbed, and was busy looking out her tiny window. One guard unlocked the door and stumbled. Scully sniffed in disgust. But, her face brightened, when she saw that the other guards had gone, perfect. Scully walked up to the guy, steadied him, then sent her knee into his chest and her two elbows crashing down into the back of his neck. He was immediately unconscious. She took his gun, put her blazer back on, then headed down the dark corridor. She cautiously looked around every corner, as she searched for the vaccine. She held the guys gun ready. She peaked into one dark room. It had a small light and she saw vials of orange-brown liquid. That was it. She looked at the handle; it was coded. Well, that fell into her area of expertise. Within a few minutes she had decoded it. She stealthily stepped inside. She stayed in the dark and searched the room with her eyes, no one. She slowly stepped towards the vials. She already had on her black leather gloves. She reached out for one. She felt something heavy hit hard against her head. It sent her back and she was quite dizzy. She tried to brace herself against the attacker, but he switfly knocked her off her feet. It was Krycek. He quickly got her up and threw her out of the room, she hit the wall. She sent her foot back into his stomach, forcing him away from her. She spun around and kicked him in the side. He staggered back; she tried to kick him in the face. But, he was taller than Mulder (and six feet was her greatest extent). She slipped and fell on her right foot, which had been twisted for the kick. Her face slightly winced, as she was picked back up by the arm, and escorted back to her room. Scully sat in the corner, knees bended. Her arms hung casually on them, she looked down at her chained feet and smiled. Oh well, next time someone came, she'd have to use her fists. It had been three days, she was finally eating, but still not enough. She leaned her head against the wall and started to formulate another means of escape. But, she wouldn't leave without the vaccine. She looked at the floor of her cell in deep contemplation. She started thinking about what Mulder had meant to her. What had his place been in her life? She looked to the ceiling as if towards him and said, "I know now. In my life, your purpose was to change me. To help me see the extreme possibilities, to show me my strength, and how to use it. Your quest brought me to the truth. You showed me that you should never give up. You proved that there is always a reckoning in the end. By working with you, I reteieved my faith, and my purpose. But, personally though, you were no more than that. You were the teacher, and the lesson was over. I had grown tired of the teacher and the repeated lessons, then it was time for you to leave. And, me to go forward." Having spilled out her thoughts, she turned her eyes to the floor, again. Then, the door handle began to turn. Scully quickly stood up. She braced herself for a struggle or to attack. But, instead of an easy- to-defeat guard, Krycek came in. Scully's face almost slumped in disappointment, but she didn't let it. She leaned back into the corner. Krycek folded his arms, looked at her and said, "Will you go back to America, and forget about all of this?" Scully really wished she could lie, but something told her that if she lied, he'd know. "Nope." she replied honestly. He looked away and rubbed the back of his neck. With her arms folded, she now looked at him. "Krycek you're with the resitsance, why don't you just give me some of the vaccine?" He didn't look surprised. He pulled out a vial of the vaccine. He held it up and said, "This will give you much. The cure for the black oil and a means to save others." He held it in both his hands. Scully's eye widened. he looked at her, then at his left arm, he smiled diabolicly and said, "Yes, they are capable of restoring appendages. But, they can do much more than that, this is my reward for joining them. Mine is almost restored." He took off his glove, their were only 4 prominent fingers, the fifth was on its way. Skin was on its way to forming totally. The arm lacked some muscle, but it would continue to develop. Suddenly Krycek stepped forward, and stroked Scully's face with his "hand." Then he immediately distanced himself and said, "Back to the vaccine. You have a chance Scully," he said eyeing her, "If you quite the FBI, go be a doctor, then never talk about any of this again, get married spend more time with your family, never investigate in any of these matters, well maybe they'll let you go. But," he said thrusting the vaccine forward, right in front of her eyes, "but, if you take this vaccine, it's all over. Once they find out you've seen the vaccine, becoming a nun, and go as a missionary to Congo won't save you. They will really be after you." Krycek unlocked the chains on her feet. He handed her her blazer and gun, which she accepted. Then he held the vaccine loosely, "The choice is yours." Scully looked at the vial, then she grabbed it. She headed out the door, exited the complex, and was on her way back to Washington. Krycek watched from the window. ------------------------------------------------
